Matrys Day

The Velammal West school observed the Martyr’s day on 30 th January to pay homage to all who laid down their lives for the country. The Principal, Mr.Velmurugan lit a lamp in honour of the father of our nation. The dream of Mahatma Gandhi – Leprosy Free India, regarding that an oath was taken by the students to eradicate leprosy. The students and staff observed a two minute silence in honour of the Martyr’s day. Students were educated on the significance of the day to inculcate the value of patriotism in the young minds.
